The detail
Every frame is a real print.
These are 100% crops from a 300 dpi print. The camera is not faking detail: it flies over the same picture you can hang on a wall.
Somewhere in there is the porch you grew up on.

The making of
How the film is made.
- Step 1
Real map data
Streets, buildings and terrain come from open map data (OpenStreetMap and public elevation data).
- Step 2
An illustrated slab
We draw it as a small slab of your town, with a warm light. It is an illustration, not a navigation map.
- Step 3
A camera and a grade
A camera flies across it with depth of field, a tilt-shift focus, and a colour grade from day to night. At night your homes and the landmarks light up.
The preview you make here is a free illustration with a flight on top. In Premium you get the 4D reveal film of your finished plate, made for sharing.

Questions people ask first
Is it really my town? Short answers.
Where does the map come from?
Buildings, roads, water and woods come from open map data (OpenStreetMap and national sources), so your streets and houses sit where they really are. The drawing style is ours. Every plate carries its credit line, and this page lists the sources.
Is the plate a survey or a navigation map?
No. It is an artwork based on public data. Buildings can be missing or simplified, and it must not be used to find boundaries or to navigate.
What happens to my address?
It is used to find the place and draw the plate. Addresses and previews are deleted after 90 days, and you can delete your files from the download page at any time. Privacy.
Can I print it?
Yes. You get a digital file that any print shop can print. Printed posters are coming soon. How to print it yourself: sizes, paper and what to ask the shop.
